Halo 5: Guardians is getting a player vs. enemy mode, Warzone Firefight, soon, and players can expect a lot of new additions to the game. Developer 343 Industries has revealed two of those additions: there’ll be a new enemy boss, the Grunt Goblin, and a usable aircraft called the Wasp.

The Grunt Goblin is actually an Elite Grunt piloting a mech suit. The hulking robot looks like a giant Grunt, complete with a massive Needler to go along with it. “Essentially, the backstory of this battle suit is it was built by Grunts for Grunts in what the Grunt designers agreed was the perfect embodiment of agility and lethality,” character designer Steve Dyck told Polygon. “Obviously when you have a Grunt driver or ‘jockey’ controlling this powerful battle suit, results may be unpredictable.”

Grunts have shown up throughout the Halo series as laughable cannon fodder with memorable lines. The Grunt Goblin still retains that absurdity, although it’ll be more dangerous to fight. It wields a double-barreled Needler that can simultaneously target eight players for a barrage. The boss also carries a grenade launcher that it turns to if the Needler is disabled, and it can destroy a Spartan or a light vehicle with a single melee, and it’s equipped with an EMP burst to disable larger vehicles.

In addition to Warzone Firefight, the Grunt Goblin will also appear as a boss in the base Warzone mode.

The other addition coming in the Firefight update is a new aircraft, the Wasp. This is the third UNSC aircraft that’ll be usable in the game, joining the Hornet and Sparrowhawk. It’s a vertical-takeoff-and-landing vehicle equipped with heavy machine guns and rocket launchers. The Wasp is light and is meant to be used in swift hit-and-run attacks.

To use the Wasp in Warzone, you’ll need a specific Req card. It can also be placed in custom Forge maps.

The Firefight update is planned for release at the end of June. In the meantime, you can read up more on the changes coming to the game in the update. Additionally, 343 Industries recently announced that it’s teaming up with a variety of different companies to create new Halo merchandise.
